Q3. What happens when an acid reacts with a metal?

When an acid reacts with a metal, it produces a salt and hydrogen gas.

Example:

Zn+2HCl→ZnCl2+H2↑\text{Zn} + 2\text{HCl} \rightarrow \text{ZnCl}_2 + \text{H}_2 \uparrow

This is a single displacement reaction.
